Stratum Pier is an art installation in the 100 Acres project at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Stratum Pier is a lilypad-like fiberglass grating structure on cast-in-place concrete and steel framing. The fiberglass grating comprising the floors and handrails was placed at a total of 14 different elevations, requiring careful design and placement of the supporting structure. The cantilevered steel framing supporting the fiberglass grating was anchored to a concrete "spine' which itself was supported on concrete piers.
