Renovation of an existing masonry, steel, and wood framed structure which was a former twine factory built in the 1920's. The current owner developed the property into an art gallery specializing in Japanese work. The renovation included the removal/infill of a basement vault space, strengthening of the existing wood and steel framing, and complete re-framing of the Halsted Street façade. In addition, skylights illuminate the second floor gallery, connecting it with the adjacent roof garden.
